Due diligence on Title Searches

Remember, when you are performing due diligence on a property title, what's not registered on title is often just as important as what is registered.  Be on the look out for:  Archaeological sites, Heritage designations, Highway entitlements, Stigmatized property including former grow ops and illegal drug labs, Streamside issues and underground oil storage tanks.  For more property information, you can go to the Archaeology Branch of the Ministry of Tourism, Sports & Arts and also the Heritage Conservation Act at www.bclaws.ca.  If you suspect an oil tank, have a certified oil tank removal company thoroughly check out the property.  Grow op and Drug lab information may generally be obtained through the local City Hall.
