How can I check a Strata Corporation's history?

Blog by Diane Cardoso | February 3rd, 2014

When making an offer to purchase a stratafied home, a prudent Buyer will request Strata Corporation documents in order to make an informed decision. There are several places to check items related to the history of the building or individual unit. Section 35 of the BC Strata Properties Act allows Buyers to access a broad list of documents including reports such as: repair and maintenance, engineering, depreciation, risk managment, a "Form B" information cerftificate and financial statements. The Land Registry may also contain pertinent documents related to the property.  My long standing experience with stratafied homes can help you obtain and traverse through this detail of information. Just give me a call!
