Steveston Cares - Walk for Japan, Sun March 20th 10-2 pm

Blog by Diane Cardoso | March 15th, 2011

This coming Sunday, March 20, from 10am-2pm, there will be a one kilometre walk around the Steveston Village core, starting at Fisherman's Park at Third Avenue and Moncton Street. The walk will wind its way down Third Avenue, east along Bayview, up No. 1 Road then west along Moncton Street back to Fisherman's Park. There will be two tents set up to receive donations. One tent will be at Rolston Square, corner of No. 1 Rd and Moncton and the other at Fisherman's Park, Third Avenue and Moncton. The Steveston Rotary Club will issue tax receipts for any donations.
We are trying to adopt a Japanese fishing village through our Sister City in Wakayama, Japan. All the funds will flow through the Steveston Buddhist Temple directly to the village once we have secured the administration of the funds.

The walk is being sponsored by the Steveston Rotary Club and fully supported by the Steveston Community Society. Lets try and get everyone out to support this worthy cause. Help spread the word by forwarding this message to your family and friends. Thanks Everyone - we look forward to seeing you on Sunday, rain or shine!
